Hey everyone!

As a fellow naturalista, I know it can be hard to find the right hair products for your hair, so here are some of my favorite hair products (Not in order). My curl pattern is 4C and I have Low Porosity hair. If you are curious about your hair type, you can take a curl pattern quiz, like Shea Moisture.

Hair porosity is defined as "The hair’s ability to absorb and retain moisture." Since my hair is low porosity, it tends to be water and moisture resistant due to tight cuticles. (For more information click here). Also, these products work for me but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll work for you. It is important to listen to your hair and see how your hair reacts to the products you use.

Shea Moisture's Low Porosity Shampoo & Conditioner

According to Sheamoisture.com, this clarifying shampoo is sulfate-free that gently cleanses and remove product build-up. The conditioner helps soften, moisturize, and balance your hair. Both products are ideal for low porosity curls and coils that resist essential moisture. A few ingredients: baobab and tea tree oils, spearmint, clary sage to promote scalp health, and organic shea butter.

Since I have low porosity hair, it was difficult for me to find a shampoo and conditioner that moisturized AND cleansed my hair. These two are my favorite shampoo and conditioner because it provides your hair with moisture without surface build-up. After I use these products, my scalp feels cool and clean. Both products are lightweight and smell great.

As I Am's Leave-In Conditioner

According to Asiamnaturally.com, this leave-in is a vital first step in styling. Mainly used after you cleanse and condition your hair to help soften, style and manage your hair. It contains an organic strengthening agent and natural ingredients that promote hair growth. I love this product mainly because it detangling easier, very moisturizing, smells great, and is lightweight. I recommend this product if you need a leave-in that moisturizes and detangles easy.

Taliah Waajid's Curling Cream Hair Lotion

Naturalhair.org states, this hair lotion defines and moisturize your curls and controls frizz and flyaways. This weightless lotion adds moisture and nourishes your hair, leaving it soft, smooth and with a healthy shine. Main ingredients: shea butter and pure avocado oil. This product is one of my favorites because it defines my curls when I do twist outs or braid outs, without leaving my hair feeling crunchy. It also smells really good and has a lightweight consistency.

Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil Masque

Sheamoisture.com states this deep conditioner restores strength and resilience to damaged, brittle or chemically processed hair. The masque is perfect for those who regularly color, straighten, perm or heat style their hair, as well as kinky, curly or wavy natural styles. A few ingredients: Jamaican black castor oil, certified organic shea butter, and peppermint. This product leaves my hair soft, shiny, and manageable. Although it doesn't smell as good as my other hair products, it still conditions and strengthens my hair.

TGIN's Smooth & Hold Edge Control

According to thankgoditsnatural.com, this edge control is infused with nettle leaf & castor oil that holds edges in place without build-up and flaking. There are no parabens, sulfates, petrolatum, lanolin, or artificial colors within the product. This can be used on natural or relaxed hair! I have tried soo many edge controls and I finally found one that works with my curl type. I use this product whenever I style my hair. This edge control smells good, is lightweight, and can hold down my 4c edges.

Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner

According to aussie.com, this deep conditioner treatment has 3X the moisturizing power. It can transform dry hair into silky, shiny hair in 3 short minutes. The product contains an intensely hydrating formula, infused with a touch of Australian Aloe, Jojoba and Sea Kelp. The first time I tried this, I was very surprised by how fast this product made my hair soft and manageable. I often use the conditioner before I wash my hair after I wear protective styles (braids, wigs, etc.). This conditioner is very moisturizing and smells great.

EcoStyler Black Castor & Flaxseed Oil Styling Gel

Ecocoinc.com states, this styling gel helps to nourish, repair and grow hair. The gel contains a wheat protein that strengthens and protects hair. Notable features: smoothes and conditions hair, no flaking, anti-itch, UV protection, and is great for all hair types. I love this product because it is weightless and has a stronghold. Since I don't do wash-n-go's, I mainly use this product for styling my hair or to lay down my edges.

Africa's Best Originals Hair Mayonnaise (Protein Treatment)

Africasbesthair.com states the hair mayonnaise is enriched with natural botanical herbal extracts, vitamins, egg protein and olive oil to deep condition and repair weak or damaged hair. I love this protein treatment because it leaves my hair very soft and moisturized. Every time I do this treatment my hair feels amazing!

I hope some of these hair products help you out on your natural hair journey!

With Love,

Tae💜
